August 19, 2010: Call for Nominations - CENTER for American Nurses --- Deadline August 24, 2010 The CENTER is currently seeking nominations for four (4) Board Positions as well as persons to be appointed to the Program & Services Advisory Council (PSAC) and Subscriber Engagement Advisory Group (SEAG). PSAC will provide oversight and coordination of the program and service development activities for the CENTER and the Institute. SEAG will craft and implement strategies to develop and grow the individual and organizational subscriber categories approved with the adoption of the CENTER's new bylaws. The new design and functionality allows NFN to connect more closely with its members and provide relevant content through an up-to-date “Right Now” section. August 6, 2010: Ohio Nurses Association Announces Endorsed Candidates for November 2010 General Election The ONA-PCE selects candidates based on their support of nursing and other healthcare issues. “ONA-endorsed candidates were chosen because of their support for nursing issues and their search for positive solutions for healthcare,” said Jeri Milstead RN, chair of the ONA-PCE. “We are pleased to be able to urge nurses and others to vote for them on November 2nd,” Milstead said. July 30, 2010: Ohio Nurses Foundation Announces $10,000 Grant to Study Cost-Effectiveness of Registered Nurse Staffing The Ohio Nurses Foundation is accepting research proposals which investigate the relationships between RN/patient ratios and their impact on the financial outcomes of the facility. A monetary award of $10,000 for a one year period, April 1, 2011-April 1, 2012, will be awarded to the winning proposal. Applications are due by January 15, 2011.
