The Ohio Nurses Association and the Ohio Nurses Foundation
are very proud of their rich history of quality continuing
education (CE) programs. Accredited as an approver by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation since
1977, ONA was the first organization in Ohio to become an
approver of CE programming by the Ohio Board of Nursing in 1991.
As an approver of CE programming, the ONA CE Approver Committee and
the Continuing Education Department review applications for
individual activities (conferences, independent studies, etc.) and for
organizations who wish to become an approved provider unit. The
activities that ONA approves or that the approved provider units provide
under this system are recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing for
re-licensure and the ANCC Commission on Certification for
re-certification.
The Ohio Nurses Foundation is also accredited as a provider by the
ANCC Commission on Accreditation and the Ohio Board of Nursing. Its
CE activities are designed to provide nurses with greater insight and
better understanding of any given CE topic, as well as new ideas and
ways to apply that knowledge in the clinical and professional
setting.
The Ohio Nurses Foundation (OBN-001-91) is accredited as a provider
of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
The Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91) is an
