One of ONA's top priorities is scope of practice. ONA's Nursing Practice Department provides access to the most current and accepted nursing standards of practice. Through the Nursing Practice Department, nurses participate in numerous clinically-based special interest groups, where the focus is on standards of practice, continuing nursing education, and networking and mentoring among the members.

ONA's Nursing Practice Department constantly researches questions from nurses across the state looking to better understand their roles and responsibilities in various workplace situations. With policies and procedures constantly changing, ONA's Nursing Practice Department ensures that members will always have access to the latest information to protect both their professional career and patient safety.
