On Monday, April 10th, nurses at the University of Cincinnati Hoxworth Blood Center collectively ratified a new 3-year collective bargaining agreement.
The nurses were able to successfully secure language for mileage reimbursement, preceptor pay and reduced work schedules. The nurses were also able to add language that prohibits floating to any other area of the hospital – a common practice in Ohio hospitals that can compromise safe patient care.
Additionally, the nurses were able to negotiate an average salary increase of 8% over the life of the contract.
Congratulations on a successful contract campaign, Hoxworth nurses!
